FEATURE - STUDIO LOGOS
It was a pleasure working with Director Simon McQuoid on the studio logos at the start of Mortal Kombat.
It was important (and fun!) to make sure the first moments of the film transported the viewers to the world of Mortal Kombat. I pulled reference from the main characters and their feud to dictate the design/animation.
The warm lit, battle-hardened WB logo represents the infamous Scorpion. As the logo transitions it is overtaken by freezing ice. The cold, frost-bitten New Line Cinema logo represents, the one-and-only, Sub-Zero (my childhood favorite).
